El Mastaba Center for Egyptian Folk Music invites you to celebrate the 23rd Birth date of the legendary El Tanbura group on Thursday, January 12, 2012, 9:00 PM And enjoy the first concert of El Tanbura group in its 24th year.
The 23 years old El Tanbura is an exceptional strife story - especially in the beggining - against marginalization and becoming one of the commercial bands that without spirit and meaning, just because of their belief that it is a must to preserve this patrimonial spirit of spiritual legacy to enrich the egyptian human existence. At 1996 the band for the first time could travel abroad - exactly to France - and it was a hit, after that they begin to flourish untill in the year 2000 that their founder Zakaria Ibrahim founded El Mastaba center, afterwards the band went globally, and the center founded several other bands some of them succeeded to reach the global level as well.
