In these pages you will hopefully find interesting tips on how to take advantage of Cairo's many cultural opportunities, with particular attention to live events. Cairo Live Events Guide does not pretend to be exhaustive but will try to cover main events open to the public.

This is a private, independent, nonprofit endeavour. This blog was started in August 2008 by Cairowanderer who has been running it solo up to May 2011. May will be a dream month for movie buffs. The European Commission Delegation to Egypt will bring to Cairo 23 movie from different EU states. And the good thing is that they are not on "festival format"with daily multi screening but rather on "a-movie a-day format" meaning that pretty much all evenings of May have something on offer.

The first movie, "Empties" from the Czech Republic, will be screened tomorrow, Sunday, May 3 at 8:00 PM at the Embassy of the Czech Republic 4, Dokki Str., Giza.

Movies will be screened at the French Cultural Center in Mounira, the Hungarian Cultural Center, the Goethe Institute, the Italian Cultural Centre and at the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
