In these pages you will hopefully find interesting tips on how to take advantage of Cairo's many cultural opportunities, with particular attention to live events. Cairo Live Events Guide does not pretend to be exhaustive but will try to cover main events open to the public.

Gomhouria Theatre

Situated Downtown (Wust el-Balad) near the Abdeen Royal Palace, the Gomhouria Theatre is run by the Cairo Opera House. It is not a big theatre but it houses interesting music and ballet performances which are deemed either not to attract a lot of following or that could not fit into the schedule of the Opera House halls. Having said that, last year I saw some very good stuff here.
For performances open to the public, entrance tickets are on sale the same evening of the performance at the ticket office of the Theatre, on the left side of the entrance, and are ranging between 10 and 20 EGP.
Parking is normally available on the left side of the same Gomhouria Str., south of Opera Square, before reaching the Theatre. The theatre has no dedicated parking lot.

Address: 12, Al-Gomhouria St., Abdin, Tel. 23907707
