Eftekasat, The Percussion Show and Massar Egbari to play at Cairo360 fundraising event for "Operation Smile" Children Charity

Cairo 360, the multi-award winning online magazine from Media Republic which serves as the definitive guide to living in Cairo, announced plans to host a charity fundraiser at the Fairmont Nile City on Wednesday 1st September 2010. The event, held at the exclusive Bab El Nil Ramadan terrace is one of three events held during the holy month in support of Operation Smile, the worldwide organization which provides safe, free, and efficient cleft palate surgery for children across the globe.

Bab El Nil is a venue specifically set up by the Fairmont Nile City during Ramadan, for a month long celebration of Egyptian culture through art, fashion and music. Cairo 360 will be hosting the third and final event centred around live performances from several bands including Eftekasat, The Percussion Show, and Masar Egbari; three leading Egyptian bands at the forefront of modern Arabic music.

“We’re delighted to have been given the opportunity by the Fairmont Nile City, and Operation Smile to help organize one of their fundraisers during the holy month. It is been a very exciting project for us, and we are pleased to have big local artists such as Eftekasat, The Percussion Show, and Massar Egbari on board, all of whom are showing their support by performing pro bono” said Waseem El Tanahi, Publisher of Cairo 360. “The highly anticipated evening of celebrations is bound to be a calendar event for Cairenes looking for entertainment during Ramadan which remains true to the spirit of the holy month by giving something back to those that are less fortunate” he added.

The fundraising events will be previewed regularly throughout Ramadan on www.Cairo360.com which also provides a comprehensive list of Ramadan events in Egypt, and more information on how to make a donation before the 1st September 2010.
