Upcoming events at the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival


Herebelow you'll find some remarkable events presented these coming days in the framework of the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival.

Theatre: WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT by Nassim Soleimanpour (Iran)
No rehearsals. No director. No set. A different actor reads the script cold for the first time at each performance. Will you participate?
Falaki Theatre, AUC Downtown Campus, Falaki St. - Saturday April 13 with Khaled Abol Naga in Arabic (Will also be performed in English by Ramsi Lehner on Thirsday April 18) - 8:00 PM - Duration: 50 to 70 min - Ticket price: 20 LE (Students: 10 LE)

Visual Arts: AUGMENTED AIRSPACE by Dia Hamed (Egypt) and Lot Amoros (Spain)
See Cairo from the air whilst standing on the ground! Watch live footage of the city augmented by a digital skin layer and explore the possible uses of air as a medium of expression.
At Friends Cafe, Elwi St., behind the Egyptian stock exchange - April 11-15, 6:00 PM - Duration: 30 minutes - FREE

Film: BLIND AMBITION by Hassan Khan (Egypt, 2012). Arabic. Middle East Premiere.
Shot entirely on a on a mobile phone and screened last year at the prestigious dOCUMENTA (13) exhibition, “Blind Ambition” will have its Middle East Premiere at the historic Radio Cinema. Followed by Hassan Khan in Conversation with writer, Ahmed Naje, Arabic with English translation.
