In these pages you will hopefully find interesting tips on how to take advantage of Cairo's many cultural opportunities, with particular attention to live events. Cairo Live Events Guide does not pretend to be exhaustive but will try to cover main events open to the public.

9th FESTIVAL OF INDEPENDENT CINEMA for YOUNG EGYPTIAN FILMMAKERS

Today Wednesday, March 11 and tomorrow Thursday, March 12 2009 at 7:00 PM, the Goethe-Institut (5, Sh. El-Bustan, Downtown) will host the 9th edition of the Independent Film Festival for young Egyptian Filmmakers.
The Egyptian movie scene has seen in the past years the emergence of interesting young directors that have produced and financed movies on their own. The festival gives them the opportunity to show and discuss their works with the public. This year an Audience Award will be presented in the Documentary and Short Film categories.
All movies (not surprisingly) in Arabic. Free entry.
