NATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR EGYPTIAN CINEMA 2009
Today, Thursday April 23, kicks off the 2009 National Festival for Egyptian Cinema. Between today and April 29, more than 50 movies and documentary films will be shown in the Small Hall of the Cairo Opera House and at the Gomhouria Theatre. It is a gluttonous opportunity for anybody interested in Egyptian productions.
Unfortunately I was not able to get much information in English on the net, but I am sure there must be some if you know Arabic and scan Arabic websites; this, after all, makes sense, for the movies will not be subtitled.
For my friends who cannot speak Arabic but still like to go and see Egyptian movies (yes, they exist, and I admire them), the best is to get hold of last Al-Ahram Weekly where there is a comprehensive programme of the event with titles, time and locations.
