In these pages you will hopefully find interesting tips on how to take advantage of Cairo's many cultural opportunities, with particular attention to live events. Cairo Live Events Guide does not pretend to be exhaustive but will try to cover main events open to the public.

Documentary Film Evening at Darb 1718

I am still abroad and not in a position to prepare the weekly agenda for the coming week (for which I apologize to you), but I happened to have some minutes free and an internet connection so I quickly scanned my mails and found a communication about this event at DARB 1718 that I think can be truly interesting:

The documentary films “Dardasha” & “El Ghaba” will be screened at Darb 1718 on Monday October 4, 2010 at 7:30 PM. The screenings will be followed by a panel discussion with Egyptian independent filmmakers Hala Galal, Ahmed Atef & Nagham Osman.
"Women’s Chit Chat" (Dardasha Nisayia, Hala Galal, 55 min) explores four generations of women in one Egyptian family and won the Silver Eagle award at the Arab Film Festival in Rotterdam, Holland.
"The Jungle" (El Ghaba, Ahmed Atef, 90 min) portrays the lives of street children in Egypt and received international acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008.
