Edison Films at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina

From Sunday 16 to Thursday January 20, 2011 the Bibliotheca Alexandrina will present an extraordinary program for film lovers: a series of short films by Thomas Edison made with his new invention, the Kinetoscope, the device that signed the birth of the motion picture. The collection, from the Museum of Modern Art in cooperation with the Library of Congress, will also feature interviews with archivists and cinema scholars. Screenings will take place at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium Hall.

On Sunday January 30 (same time, same venue) an animation film program from South Africa dedicated to William Kentridge will be screened.
