Book Launch + George Kazazian and Sabil Ensemble, Saturday October 8, 2011



On Saturday, October 8, 2011 Mashrabia Gallery will showcase a concert alongside with the Egyptian launch of a book.

Published in 2011, the book "Cairo – Lucerna – Cairo" presents the results of a visual exchange of postcards between Jacinta Candinas (Cairo) and Manuel Vázquez (Lucerna) and contains also short stories and poems of Andri Perl (Coira). 8:00 PM
Jacinta Candinas will be present.

Georges Kazazian (Oud) & the Sabil Ensemble (Jazz), 9:00 PM

The collaboration of the quintet on a high level of sensitivity and creativity ended up with a style jazz mélange: from East to West passing through India, up to the mountains of Armenia. And now they are on a tour along the river Nile…

This "White Lotus Project" was initiated by the Egyptian composer and oud player Georges Kazazian and supported by PRO HELVETIA since April 2010.
