"Ma Salama Jamil" is a Danish movie written and directed by a Palestinian-Danish man, about the struggle of a young man who refuses to be a pawn in a game he does not want to play . By the way, the boy is an Arab, and is name is Jamil, and he lives in Scandinavia. I haven't seen it but it is considered a very inspired and inspiring movie. Showing

"Basra" is an Egyptian movie by Ahmed Rashwan about a photojournalist in the city of Basra shortly before the US-UK strike against Iraq. The leading role is played by Bassem Samra (Yacoubian Building), one of the best Egyptian actors around. For me, that's enough to qualify for today's second pick. Showing at the Good News cinema at 4:00 PM
