In these pages you will hopefully find interesting tips on how to take advantage of Cairo's many cultural opportunities, with particular attention to live events. Cairo Live Events Guide does not pretend to be exhaustive but will try to cover main events open to the public.

JAZZ FACTORY OPENING NIGHT SAGA - FINAL CHAPTER

It is with great regret and deep disappointment that I have to inform that, following a telephone conversation with Al Mawred this morning, I came to know that TOMORROW’s OPENING CONCERT of the JAZZ FACTORY, prominently publicized in Al-Mawred’s official program, website and in many magazines, IS BY INVITATION ONLY! I asked, naively, how one can get hold of these invitations, only to be told that it is not possible.

This is more than a shame; it is appalling and disrespectful. I do not question the organizers and sponsors right to have a concert night all for themselves and their friends, but why not writing it on the program? Why fooling people into believing that they can attend this concert? Why is there not more respect for the “general” public?

Does somebody care to reply?
