“Exit Through the Gift Shop” (2010) at the Townhouse Library, 7:00 PM
Directed by Banksy
A film about an amateur French film maker who obsessively tries to document the making of street art by world renowned graffiti artists such as Shepard Fairey, Invader, and Banksy, claiming his end goal being the creation of a documentary on street art, when in fact he has no intention in doing so. Not only does he follow them during late hours of the night while climbing buildings to leave their outspoken marks, but he also befriends them and learns their craft. Inspired by the risky life and impact of street life, Terry Guetta, starts his own line of work under the stage name “Mr Brainwash” as Banksy himself edits and creates “Exit Through the Gift Shop”.
