MAWAWEEL 2012 Festival at Darb 1718


Darb 1718 in partnership with Cairo Jazz Club Agency will bring us this year as well the lovely MAWAWEEL Ramadan Festival.
If you have been there before you know what I am talking about. If you have never been, do not miss an opportunity to enjoy music, theatrical performances, assorted bazaars, interactive arts and crafts, and tasty food in a wonderful open air environment. And if you have children, bring them along, they will have the evening of their life.
This year's program is as follows:

Thursday July 26, 2012
9.30pm - 1.30am: Bazaar, Art Exhibition, Craft Workshops
10.30pm - 11.30pm: Concert - Massar Egbari
12am - 1am: Mawalaweya - Transcendence Ritual

Thursday August 2, 2012
9.30pm - 1.30am: Bazaar, Art Exhibition, Craft Workshops
10.30pm - 11.30pm: Concert - Basheer
12am - 1am: Mawalaweya - Sufi Jazz

Thursday August 9;2012
9.30pm - 1.30am: Bazaar, Art Exhibition, Craft Workshops
10pm - 11pm: Storytelling with Abeer Soliman ‘Shehrazad's Last Night’
11pm – 12am: Concert - Ashara Gharbi
12am - 1am: Mawalaweya - Tannoura

The festival takes place in the grounds of Darb 1718 Egyptian Contemporary Art and Culture Center (click here for instructions on how to get there) , Kasr El Sham3 Street - Al Fakhareen Old Cairo
