2010 International Freedom to Create Prize Award Ceremony and Concert

The Freedom to Create Prize is an annual award that celebrates the courage and creativity of artists around the world who use their talent to promote social justice and inspire the human spirit. It offers artists local and global recognition, inspiring them to use their creativity to transform society. This year’s Award Ceremony and Concert will take place on Friday 26 November, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Cairo`s Salah El Din Citadel and will be hosted by international actor and UN Goodwill Ambassador Amr Waked and US television presenter Femi Oke, with performances by:

HAKIM – Egyptian superstar and the first music artist from an Arab country to perform at a Nobel Peace Prize event

DONIA MASSOUD – internationally renowned Egyptian culture and folk singer

ARABIAN KNIGHTZ – Egyptian hip hop artists and 2010 Freedom to Create Prize entrants, combining traditional Arabic music with contemporary new sounds to call for Arab unity and understanding

EeS – groundbreaking Namibian musician and 2010 Freedom to Create Prize entrant, shaking up the African KWAITO music scene
