In these pages you will hopefully find interesting tips on how to take advantage of Cairo's many cultural opportunities, with particular attention to live events. Cairo Live Events Guide does not pretend to be exhaustive but will try to cover main events open to the public.

Italian Film Forum at AUC

THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN CAIRO (Office of Student Development) and Itaca present "The Italian Film Forum at AUC".
Tuesday November 23, 2010 at 7:00 PM the movie "CARO DIARIO" (1993) by Nanni Moretti will be screened in Room 753 of the Falaki Building– Downtown Campus. The movie will be in Italian language with  English subtitles and will be introduced by Mariam Hamdy.  Free entry.

Caro Diario entwines three different stories while alternating between fictional and documentary styles. Their common protagonist is the director himself, Nanni Moretti, known in Italian cinema for his intellectual, difficult and inspiring style. Reworking a series of commonplaces about Italy and Italians, this 1993 movie reshapes the streets of Rome while carrying the spectator on the back of his vespa, presents and problematizes Italian social values in a trip between the city and the periphery, the traditional and the new.
