In these pages you will hopefully find interesting tips on how to take advantage of Cairo's many cultural opportunities, with particular attention to live events. Cairo Live Events Guide does not pretend to be exhaustive but will try to cover main events open to the public.

This is a private, independent, nonprofit endeavour. This blog was started in August 2008 by Cairowanderer who has been running it solo up to May 2011. Since then Cairene Beat contributes as well to the blog. AUC Book Presentation

On Wednesday, November 10, 2010 the American University in Cairo Press will present three new titles in the realm of Architecture and the Arts, namely "The Minarets of Cairo", "Hassan Fathy and Continuity in Islamic Arts and Architecture", and "Babylon of Egypt".
The event will take place in the Hassan Fathy House, Haret Darb El Labbana (near Salah el-Din Square) at 6:00 PM.
For more details and a map of the location, click here.

I take this opportunity to reply to the readers who inquired about the "Cairo Family Guide". The NEW edition is now definitely available at AUC bookstores and should be in other good bookstores as well. If you are offered the old edition, you can ask the bookseller to order the new one for you.
