El Tanboura in concert

A night of Simsimeya and Damma music with El Tanboura, straight from Port Said and the Suez Canal area. A celebration of the history of the country, its traditions and the hardships of life with wit and humor and an unmistakable, unique sound.
On Saturday Friday November 12, 2010 at 9:30 at the El Tanboura Hall – 30 A El Balaqsa Str. Abdin- Downtown – Cairo (it's the last small street on the right off of Tahrir st., before Abdin Sq.)

  2. Sorry, made a mistake, it is today, the 12th, and it happens to be a Friday and not a Saturday. For more information you can call 010 3171762 or email info@elmastaba.org. I have no more details about the address as I have not been there myself yet.

  3. Update:

El Tanbura plays at "El Tanbura Hall" every Friday at 9:30 p.m. Its a very fun show, Port Said and other Egyptian folk songs sung with great spirit, and good instrumental pieces as well.

Rango, an Egyptian/Sudanese Zar band, plays every Thursday at El Tanbura Hall, 9:30 p.m.

El Tanbura Hall, at 30A El Balaqsa, is a very convenient venue, as it just a couple of short blocks from the Mohamed Naguib Metro stop. Its quite a small place, really just a redecorated store.
